I have 12 years experience in social welfare working with street kids, drug-addicted young people, survivors of sexual assault, newly arrived young refugees, people with disabilities and young mothers. 

I worked as a consultant in Johannesburg to develop a Youth Workers' Association. I have also worked as a researcher for the development of a Youth at Risk Road Safety Program.

For the last two years I have been employed by the Department of Defence and am currently employed as a statistician at the Australian Bureau of Statistics National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Statistics.

My hobbies include sailing, kayaking, swimming, fishing and weightlifting. I am also interested in the WWII history, American foreign policy, Australian foreign policy and sustainable development.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Affairs and Psychology, a Bachelor of Social Work, a Master of Arts in Social Research and am currently completing a Master of Arts in Development.

I have previously managed Burnley Aged Care Hostel and have been an Assistant Manager at Red Dwarf Enterprises.
