Nightcliff and Rapid Creek Education Precinct - Road Safety Assessment

In response to road safety concerns around the schools in Rapid Creek and Nightcliff, a Road Safety Assessment was carried out during 2014.

The primary objective of the assessment was to identify current and likely future safety issues around the ten schools and childcare centres in the Nightcliff and Rapid Creek education precinct. The Road Safety Assessment considered the Nightcliff and Rapid Creek areas as a whole, with all road and pedestrian movement included.

An initial stakeholder consultation was included within the scope of the Road Safety Assessment and included consultation with the schools/childcare centre directors and parents (through a travel survey), Council’s Ward Aldermen, the Lord Mayor and Northern Territory Government Departments.

You are invited to provide comments and feedback by 18 March 2015 on the Road Safety Assessment. All feedback received from the community will be compiled in a report for Council, and will help guide the agreed actions for the implementation plan which will be in place during mid-2015. Here is the Road Safety Assessment, provided both in sections and as a full document:
