2024 Masters Swimming Australia National Championships

Parap Pool will soon host the 2024 Masters Swimming Australia National Championships.

The Championships, last held in Darwin in 2007, are the equivalent of the Swimming Australia National Championships, and are therefore the prestige event of the Australian Masters Swimming organisation. Over 500 competitors are registered to participate in the event, the majority from interstate and overseas, with many spectators also expected to attend.

Competition will be held on:
Friday 3 May to Monday 6 May 2024

During this time, Parap Pool will be closed to public swimming; however, entry is free of charge for spectators, so please come along and witness Australia’s top senior swimmers in action.

Masters Swimming NT and City of Darwin thank you in advance for your support to hold this important competition.

Nightcliff Pool will operate as per its normal opening hours throughout. City of Darwin apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Lane Availability during the redevelopment of Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre

To ensure sufficient access for community and stakeholder use during the Casuarina re-development, some changes have been made to the lane availability at Parap and Nightcliff Pools from 1 October 2022.

Nightcliff – a minimum of 2 lanes will be available for public swimming at all times

Parap 50m pool – a minimum of 3 lanes will be available for public swimming 3.30-6.30pm Monday to Friday, 5 lanes all other times
Parap 25m pool – a minimum of 1 lane will be available for public swimming 9.00-9.45am and 12.30-1.15pm Monday and Wednesday, 3 lanes all other times.

Nightcliff Pool is an iconic venue for residents and visitors alike. Located on the picturesque Nightcliff Foreshore, you can take in stunning views over Darwin Harbour and enjoy cool sea breezes. The facility offers a range of programs and activities, including learn-to-swim and swim club training.

FREE for spectators, and for children under 4 years when accompanied by a paying adult.
