Education & Mentoring

Education

Charles Darwin University (CDU) has chosen the Darwin City Revitalisation Project as a key assignment for their Project Management students. The assignment encourages the students to be creative and come up with solutions to reach the City’s key objectives and will be carried out from July to October this year.

Senior Council officers have already met with the students to discuss the project and what their expectations would be if the students were delivering this project.

Mentoring

As an employer of choice, Darwin City Council is always looking for opportunities for staff development. As part of the MY0800 Darwin City Revitalisation, Bill Sullivan, an industry leader and respected authority on tree management, has been engaged to assess and monitor the status and health of trees for this project. In addition to this Bill will also mentor Council’s Arborist throughout the process.

This allows Council’s staff to access and learn from a wealth of industry knowledge and its application in the field, bringing long term benefits to individual staff, Council and community.
