Cats

From time to time some residents have expressed concern over cat management. A number of councils have introduced curfews and compulsory cat registration. Darwin City Council has encouraged community consultation and is working with cat owners and concerned groups to help educate residents about cat management and the importance of de-sexing.

Currently there is no requirement for cat registration in Darwin, but Council strongly urges cat owners to register their cat(s) free of charge with the National Pet Register ph: 1800 334 188 .
