Community centres and venues
Darwin City Council provides two community centres that cater for a variety of community requirements. Nightcliff Community Centre has meeting areas for hire and offices for rent to community organisations. Malak has two halls for gatherings or to take part in community based activities. The Malak Community Centre is located in Malak Crescent, Malak. The Centre has two different size halls, neither of which is airconditioned and they share a common toilet facility. It also has a fully fenced outdoor area at the rear including play equipment which is great for children. The Centre can be hired for birthday parties and social gatherings and there are a number of groups that hire the facility regularly such as dancing, playgroup, religious and social gatherings. The Centre includes both adult and children's tables and chairs. All Bookings require a hire fee and refundable key and security/cleaning deposits.
Small Area

- Kitchen facility includes a 221 litre fridge/freezer, 4 hot plate electric stove, electric hot water urn, sink, bench space and cupboards

The Nightcliff Community Centre is located at 18 Bauhinia Street, Nightcliff and has the following amenities. This facility is not available for private functions such as birthday or engagement parties as no alcohol is permitted.
Two Airconditioned Meeting Rooms are available for hire for seminars, training workshops or meetings. They are approximately 50 M2 in total and are divided by a concertina door. They can be hired separately or as one large room. Room 1 fits 20 people comfortably and 25 maximum. Room 2 fits 15 people comfortably and 20 maximum. Both meeting rooms combined fit 40 people comfortably and 50 maximum.
