Trees on Nature Strips
The trees on nature strips are in public places and belong to the Council no matter who planted them. Before planting trees on nature strips seek advice from Council and make sure you have seen the information sheet that lists good nature strip species and that should definitely not be used.
You must contact Council if you wish to plant, prune or remove any trees on your nature strip. Trees on nature strips should be hardy, relatively quick growers and long living. Many native species meet this criteria and need watering only whilst establishing. When planting trees always think about the long-term maintenance and the mature plant.
