Membership

Membership is free

Members have access to the collections and services of Casuarina, the City, Karama and Nightcliff Libraries. Free to any NT resident on presentation of personal ID and proof of current NT residential address

Loan Limits

You may borrow 15 items.

There are limits on some items:

• 5 DVDs, 5 Music CDs
• 1 Game / Puzzle

 Loan Periods

•  Books – four weeks
• High demand books – two weeks
• Magazines, Music CDs, DVDs, Videos, CD ROMs, Games – one week

Items borrowed at one library can be returned to any other Darwin City Council Library.

Renewals

 Items can be renewed once, provided that:

• The item has not been requested by another person
• The items is not overdue

Temporary membership

Visitors to Darwin can join the libraries as temporary members on presentation of ID and payment of a security deposit ($50) of $60. $50 is refundable, the remaining $10 is an administrative fee. and presentation of ID.

As a temporary member you get

• A borrowing limit of (5) items in all categories except e-books
• Free access to the Internet
• Access to library events and training sessions that require bookings.

• Motor manuals
• Books in languages other than English
• Local, interstate & international newspapers
• Magazines
• Phone books
• Community notice board
• Internet and Email
• Word processing and printing

Inter library loans

• Books can be loaned from other public libraries if we do not have a copy.
• There are restrictions on what can be requested for loan and in some case charges may apply.
• Please ask to see the Inter-library loan conditions before requesting this service.
