Major Roadworks will be undertaken on Smith Street from Daly to Knuckey Streets during 2007

The work will involve removing the present surface, reconstruction of the pavement and resurfacing. This is a more extensive exercise than that undertaken on Mitchell Street last year.
Planning for the work is now underway and Darwin City Council is keen to ensure your needs are considered during this design phase.
During the works, which will run for a significant period during the Dry season this year, there will be some limitations in access to properties for short periods during daytime hours.
Carparking, pedestrian, disabled and driveway access will all be reviewed during the design phase, which is underway now.
You may need to let us know of your special needs if you:
- Access property from Smith Street
- Need continuing and uninterrupted driveway access from Smith Street during the construction period, or
- Have particular pedestrian or disabled access needs.
