The Young Territory Author Awards are an annual writing competition where entrants write and produce their own book. The competition is open to all Territorians 18 years and under, and is organised in association with other public libraries and schools throughout the Northern Territory. Entries close on 30 June each year and the winners are announced at a presentation in August hosted by the Lord Mayor.

The overall winner receives a cash prize of $500, there is also a school entry category with a prize of $500, and age group and regional winners also receiving prizes.

All works of a sufficiently high quality submitted to the Young Territory Author Awards are eligible to be considered for inclusion in the Young Territory Author Collection which is housed at Casuarina Library.

We would like to thank Schools, Councils, Libraries and Parents across the Territory for encouraging the talented young writers who enter the Awards.

Proudly sponsored by Southern Cross Television The Northern Territory Writers' Centre and The Bookshop Darwin.
