Our city is one of great pathways, beautiful beaches and lots of green space to enjoy. With all this and our tropical climate, Darwin really is the place to be fit, active and healthy.

Healthy Darwin is all about getting the people of Darwin active and living a healthy lifestyle. The program is packed with low-cost activities for everyone and is a great chance to learn new skills, develop friendships and connect with other members of the local community.

The program is committed to:

  • Providing a diverse mix of healthy lifestyle activities for the whole of community across the calendar year.
  • Building community awareness of opportunities to be healthy and active.
  • Supporting our local businesses, sporting clubs and community organisations to deliver affordable and accessible health-based activities.

What Activities Can I Do? 

Now that the new normal is officially underway here in the NT, so too is Healthy Darwin's 2020 Dry Season Subsidised Activities program!

We are pleased to support a range of local suppliers to deliver low-cost physical activity sessions from Monday 29 June to the end of September so you can lead a healthy lifestyle, make new friends and enjoy the best that Darwin has to offer during the Dry!

All our subsidised activity suppliers have completed COVID-19 checklists; please contact them directly if you have any queries or concerns. The main things to remember are to bring your own water bottle, towel, and mat for any floor exercises, and stay home if you feel unwell or have been around anyone displaying flu-like symptoms.

Heart Foundation Walking

As a Local Coordinator for Heart Foundation Walking we can assist you to find a local walking group or start a new group in your area. To find out more about walking groups in Darwin, visit Heart Foundation Walking.

City of Darwin - Event - Tapping for wellbeing
Healthy Lifestyle

Sessions will involve tapping (otherwise known as EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques) to reduce stress, upset and anxiety.
