Playground Upgrades

Our green spaces include parks and playgrounds throughout the municipality. We're keeping these spaces fresh with a number of planned improvements.

Playground Refurbishments

There are over 195 items of play equipment throughout the municipality, including four regional playgrounds at Anula, East Point, Bicentennial Park and Jingili Watergardens. Each year funds are allocated to the capital works program for the upgrade of playgrounds.

Last year Council consulted with the community on upgrading six playgrounds across Darwin as part of our Playground Program.

Works to install new play equipment and shade structures at the following six neighbourhood playgrounds begun in April 2019 and are expected to be completed by mid May 2019:

Airlie Park, Brinkin

Armstrong Park, Leanyer

Colster Park, Wagaman

Brian Chong Wee Park, Woolner

Freycinet Park, Karama

Borella Park, Jingili
