Our green spaces include parks and playgrounds throughout the municipality. We're keeping these spaces fresh with a number of planned improvements.

Playground Refurbishments

City of Darwin is currently undertaking a Playground Strategy, auditing all 125 parks with playgrounds.

The results of which shall guide the installation, replacement and rationalisation of all playgrounds, outdoor exercise stations and other recreation assets across the municipality.

This strategy, scheduled for completion in June 2020, shall guide decision making around future upgrades to Darwin’s open spaces ensuring an equitable distribution to quality playgrounds and assets.

Development of the Strategy will involve a municipality-wide community engagement process, which Council encourages all residents to take part in.

Information will be available on the Engage Darwin website: https://engage.darwin.nt.gov.au/
