Important campaigning information
No campaigning is permitted at the early voting centres owned by City of Darwin. Rather, a provision has been made for candidates contesting in the election in City of Darwin municipality to only display how-to-vote cards on a specific table at City of Darwin early voting centres.
Please note: Campaigning is permitted on Election Day at all voting centres.
Early voting centres
This election, City of Darwin has two early voting centres.
- Darwin Entertainment Centre, 93 Mitchell Street, Darwin
- Casuarina Library, 17 Bradshaw Terrace, Casuarina
Early voting centres will be open from Monday 11 August 2025 through to Friday 22 August 2025.
No campaigning is permitted at these locations.
Who can display how-to-vote cards at early voting centres
Candidates contesting in City of Darwin municipality only.
Where will how-to-vote cards be displayed
A table will be provided at both centres with individual DL holders for each candidate.
Size of how-to-vote cards
Displayed how-to vote cards are to be no larger than DL size (99mm x 210mm), to be able to fit in the allocated holder. Other types of collateral of different sizes will not be accepted.
How to get your how-to-vote cards displayed and restocked
Each candidate is responsible for dropping off their how-to-vote cards to the Civic Centre, Darwin, for City of Darwin officers to stock the display table.
How-to-vote cards must be provided no later than 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday 8 August 2025 to the Customer Experience desk located at the Civic Centre, Harry Chan Avenue, Darwin for both the Darwin Entertainment Centre and the Casuarina Library early voting locations.
Please drop off any additional how-to-vote-cards to the Customer Experience Desk, Civic Centre, from Tuesday 12 August 2025.
Important: Please allow enough for the first week of early voting, at a minimum.
At no time are candidates allowed to re-stock or move any of the how-to-vote cards on display at the centres.
Please email governance@darwin.nt.gov.au on Thursday 14 August to check if additional stock is required for the second week of early voting, or alternatively please provide enough stock to the whole early voting period.

- Ensure how-to-vote cards are checked against the relevant NTEC requirements.
- Ensure how-to-vote cards are no larger than DL size, to ensure they fit in the allocated holder.
- How-to-vote cards must be provided to the Civic Centre drop off location no later than 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday 8 August 2025.
- Allow enough for the first week of early voting at a minimum.

For this election, City of Darwin will manage the tables. Please note this is a change from previous elections, where the Northern Territory Electoral Commission (NTEC) managed them.
