2023 International Women's Day Walk and Celebrations
Head down to Civic Park on Saturday 4 March 2023 and join in the International Women's Day Walk and Celebrations!
Follow the Darwin City Brass Band as we walk through the city centre streets to Bennett Park where there will be information stalls and celebrations. Guest speakers and a free morning tea will be hosted in the air-conditioned comfort of Parliament House.
International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress, to call for change and to celebrate the courage and achievements of the women who changed history, and those who will advance gender equality into the future. This a free community event. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Wear purple and bring your banners, hat and water bottle!
- 8.30am - Gather in the Civic Centre courtyard (Harry Chan Avenue, Darwin) for giveaways, Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony
- 9.00am - Walk departs Civic Centre and will finish at Bennett Park
- 9.00am to 10.30am - Information stalls and entertainment in Bennett Park
- 10.30am to 11.30am - Guest speakers and free morning tea in Parliament House.
