​​​​​​The purpose of this guideline is to provide clear instructions to City of Darwin officers about when and how to introduce traffic management or pedestrian control measures on a specific road in the Darwin Municipality. They outline the nature of the treatment to be implemented and the criteria for setting priorities, fostering a fair and consistent approach to assessing safety concerns across the City of Darwin's road network. 

These guidelines are informed by Australian Standards, Austroads Design Guidelines and best practices and have been developed in consideration of City of Darwin’s Movement Strategy.

The workflow visual representations complement the guidelines, offering a clear and systematic overview of the procedures involved in handling customer requests related to both local traffic management and pedestrian facilities.
