City of Darwin manages a range of parks, reserves, foreshore areas and civic spaces available for hire for events and activations. 

Each venue has different characteristics, facilities and requirements. Not all venues have access to power, water, toilets or other services, and some locations have restrictions on infrastructure, vehicle access, noise, capacity or event activities.

Planning a site visit 

Once your initial planning is underway and you have a good idea of your proposed site layout, infrastructure and event requirements, City of Darwin may arrange a site visit with you (to do what? Just give a bit more info – also would this happen after they have applied for an event permit or we would offer this service before hand?). 

Site visits are most useful once you have developed the concept of your event and identified venue needs. This allow us to review the proposed set-up, access and infrastructure requirements and identify any site-specific issues. 

During your site visit, we may discuss: 

• site layout and infrastructure 
• bump-in and bump-out access 
• power and water availability 
• toilets and waste facilities 
• vehicle and pedestrian access 
• protection of grass, trees and Council assets 
• accessibility and public safety
