Use a desktop computer

Library members can book computers online for any of the library locations, all you need is your library card number.
Book a computer now
Members can also log in to any available computers in person by entering your library card number and surname at the computer.

Using a computer is free.

Members can self-book a 1-hour session on library computers.

An extension of up to 1 hour may be offered based on computer availability.

If an extension is available, it will be offered through a pop-up box 10 minutes before your session ends.

Extensions are offered in 30-minute blocks.

Bookings are automatically cancelled 10 minutes after the booking time if the user does not arrive.

All logins, browser history, downloaded documents and other data will be cleared automatically when the session ends.

You can visit any of our library locations and use a computer when available. Visit the customer service desk and staff will assist you.
- Using a computer is free.
- Guests can use a computer for up to 30 minutes per day.
- An extension of up to 30 minutes may be offered based on computer availability. If the option to extend is available, it will be offered 10 minutes before your session is due to end.
Want more time on the computers?
Becoming a library member will allow you to access additional time on a computer and give you access to many other great resources. Membership is free. Temporary memberships are also available for visitors to the NT. Find out about joining the library.
Borrow a tablet or laptop
Library members may borrow a laptop or tablet computer to use inside the library, just speak to staff at the customer service desk.

These items cannot be booked in advance and have limited numbers available.

These items cannot be taken off the library premises.

Only one device can be checked out per card at one time.

Laptops
The laptops have all the same functions as the desktop computers and can be used for up to 4 hours.

A mouse and charging cable will be provided with the laptop.

Extensions may be available subject to device availability. Speak to staff before your session ends to ask about extension options.
Tablets
The library tablets are available to borrow with no time limits within the library. They have Wi-Fi access but cannot be used for printing.

Free wireless internet access is available at all City of Darwin Libraries during opening hours. This service is available to everyone.
