2024/25 Municipal Plan

City of Darwin’s 2024/25 Municipal Plan includes a $61.1 million investment in a comprehensive capital works program which will enhance liveability in Darwin and stimulate the local economy. The Municipal Plan outlines the operational budget of $141 million and key services, programs and projects that City of Darwin will undertake in the 2024/25 financial year, and includes a 2024/25 Fees and Charges section. 
The plan includes a series of highlights and statistics about the city, its facilities and infrastructure, as well as key Elected Members and the Lord Mayor. 

Highlights

  • $61.1M capital works program 
  • $25.8M for waste management operations and investment 
  • $9.5M for maintaining our parks 
  • $8.1M for connectivity and accessibility, including roads and path networks 
  • $4.5M for libraries 
  • $3.2M for tree planting and maintenance 
  • $2M for arts and culture 
  • $1.9M animal management program 
  • $1.6M in community funding through sponsorships and grants 
  • $1.34M sport and recreation investment 
  • $950K for Better Suburbs projects.

  • Civic Centre redevelopment
  • Bundilla Beach revitalisation
  • Chapel Lane revitalisation
  • Smith Street streetscaping
