Great news! City of Darwin is relaunching its award-winning myDarwin initiative to boost the Darwin economy and support local businesses after lockdown.
The ultra-successful myDarwin vouchers will be available from midday on Thursday, 26 August and midday on Thursday, 2 September 2021. A total of $100,000 has been allocated with $50,000 for each round.
CEO Scott Waters said that the myDarwin initiative was hugely popular and Council is ready to roll it out again.
“The most recent lockdown has triggered Council’s response to pressing the green light on the myDarwin program.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is having a turbulent effect on local Darwin businesses as a result of lockdowns across the other states and now two in a matter of months here in Darwin.
“The myDarwin vouchers were extremely successful and had a positive impact on local businesses, shoppers and the economy. There were seven rounds of funding previously that provided in excess of $6 million in economic stimulus for Darwin’s small businesses.
“Alongside other NT Government business assistance programs, we hope that, once again, the myDarwin vouchers will provide a much-needed boost for our local businesses and economy.”
The myDarwin vouchers can only be redeemed at local businesses in the Darwin municipality who have registered. Businesses can still register to be part of the program. You must have a shop front in Darwin, have been operating at least six months, have a turnover of less than $10M and trade in the retail, hospitality or tourism sectors.
Customers receive $40 worth of myDarwin vouchers when they sign in and accept the terms and conditions. Used vouchers are renewed every 48 hours providing more opportunities for shoppers to use the vouchers.
