Following today’s declaration by the Northern Territory Electoral Commission, City of Darwin welcomes a newly elected member to the Council ranks.
Ms Kim Farrar joins Councillors Sylvia Klonaris and Brian O’Gallagher as an elected representative for the Waters Ward.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said he congratulated Ms Farrar on her election and looked forward to working with her.
“Ms Farrar is a long-term Territorian and has a good understanding of the services Darwin residents need and want,” Mr Vatskalis said.
“She obviously has the support of Waters Ward residents, so I have no doubt she will be a strong advocate for our community.
“Ms Farrar joins a strong team of elected members, and I look forward to hearing her ideas about how we can deliver strategies and policies that deliver true benefits for Darwin.”
Waters Ward includes Anula, most of Berrimah, Coonawarra, Eaton, Karama, Malak, Marrara, Moil, Wagaman, Winnellie and Wulagi.
Ms Farrar will be sworn in at a ceremony held at 5pm at the Civic Centre soon.
