Traffic Control
Anula & Wulagi Traffic Calming Project - Completed July 2021
In response to a traffic management study undertaken for the suburbs of Anula and Wulagi, City of Darwin are proposing to implement the second stage of the Anula & Wulagi Traffic Calming project.
The abovementioned study was undertaken in 2017 by an independent traffic engineer and identified that speeding and other safety issues were occurring along Wulagi Crescent, particularly within the School Zone.
To address the identified issues along Wulagi Crescent, this project will see modifications to the intersections of Wulagi Crescent/Brolga Street, Wulagi Crescent/Union Terrace and Union Terrace/Yanyula Drive. The modifications will include kerb buildouts and new pedestrian refuges, which are envisaged to both slow vehicle turning movements and improve the safety of pedestrians crossing the road.
The construction of this project is funded by the Australian Government.
Concept plans showing the proposed works can be viewed at the below link.
It is envisaged that the works will commence in late-July 2021 and are expected to be completed by the end of August 2021, weather permitting.
