Important message

Changes to Library access and book drop

Construction of the new Civic Centre building will soon commence. The current Civic Centre carpark and nearby entrance will be closed from Monday 28 April and remain closed while works take place. The City Library will remain open and will be accessible from the Civic Centre Customer Services’ entry near Civic Park. 

Please note that the City Library returns chute will be temporarily unavailable. A new Book Drop will be installed at the Cavenagh St side of the Civic Centre soon. 

We kindly ask all customers to:

  • return items inside the Library during opening hours, or
  • use one of the 24/7 return chutes located at Casuarina, Nightcliff or Karama libraries.

Bagot Park Amenity Upgrade - Bagot Park, Millner

City of Darwin wishes to advise that there we will be enhancing amenities at Bagot Park to support our active transport initiatives.  These improvements are designed to enhance the park's functionality and accessibility for all visitors and the project will include: 

New Drinking Fountains/Bottle Fill Stations

Two new drinking fountains, equipped with bottle fill stations, will be installed—one along the Shared User Path and another near Bagot Oval. These additions will make it easier for park users to stay hydrated while enjoying the area.

More Bicycle Parking

The Bagot Oval Car Park will see the conversion of two existing car parks into dedicated pedestrian access and bike parking. This new space will accommodate up to 16 bicycles, offering more convenient and secure parking options for cyclists.

The project is set for completion in April 2025. During this time, we will work to minimize any disruptions and keep the community informed of progress.
