Changes to Library access and book drop

Construction of the new Civic Centre building will soon commence. The current Civic Centre carpark and nearby entrance will be closed from Monday 28 April and remain closed while works take place. The City Library will remain open and will be accessible from the Civic Centre Customer Services’ entry near Civic Park. 

Please note that the City Library returns chute will be temporarily unavailable. A new Book Drop will be installed at the Cavenagh St side of the Civic Centre soon. 

We kindly ask all customers to:

  • return items inside the Library during opening hours, or
  • use one of the 24/7 return chutes located at Casuarina, Nightcliff or Karama libraries.

Roads to Recovery

Boulter Road Street Light Installation - Completed 2023

City of Darwin advises that works will be taking place on Boulter Road between Amy Johnson Avenue and Vanderlin Drive, Berrimah as part of the project to install street lights on the road. This project is funded by the Australian Government through the Roads to Recovery program.

This first stage of works involving the installation of the pits, conduits and street light footings have now been completed. Further works are to occur but are currently on hold due to stormwater drainage works needing to occur beforehand. All works are expected to be complete by October 2022, weather permitting.

Works will take place from Monday to Saturday between the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm.

Traffic control will be in place and will include the provision of lane closures under Stop / Go control. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. Please follow the directions of the traffic controllers.

Machinery used in the works are expected to generate noise however this will be kept to a minimum. We thank you for your patience during this time.
