Cor Infinitus Memorial Plaque and Reflection Bench - Esplanade Park, Darwin
City of Darwin wishes to advise about upcoming enhancements to the Esplanade Park space near the Darwin Oval carpark. In collaboration with the Northern Territory Government, this project aims to create a serene space for remembrance and reflection.
Reflection Bench and Connecting Pathway
A new reflection bench has been installed, along with a connecting pathway, to establish a supportive environment where families, friends, and mates can pay tribute to their loved ones. The installation was completed on 24 April 2025.
Cor Infinitus Memorial Plaque
We will begin installing the Cor Infinitus Memorial plaque next to the bench. This plaque will feature an engraved message dedicated to all those who served our nation and were overwhelmed by the battle within. To enhance the space, we will be adding a variety of complimentary plants, including 6 Lolly Bushes, 33 Common Fringe-rushes, 24 Glennie Rivers, and 20 Grevilleas.
Landscape works commenced on 19 May 2025 and was completed on 21 May 2025. The plaque installation works are expected to be completed by end of June 2025.
Our contractor will be using machinery, which may result in some noise disturbances throughout the construction period. However, we have made every effort to schedule the works to minimize disturbances.
Thank you for your patience and consideration as we deliver this important project for the community.
