Footpath Upgrade Works – Lee Point Road, Wagaman
City of Darwin wishes to advise you about upcoming footpath upgrade works on the northern section of Lee Point Road, Wagaman. The work will span from the intersection of Lee Point Road and Parer Drive, extending to the intersection of Lee Point Road and Wagaman Terrace.
Please refer to the map below, indicating the work area.
This project is part of our council’s ongoing footpath program aimed at improving connectivity and enhancing accessibility for all users, including those with wheelchairs, trolleys, prams, and bikes.
The works are expected to commence on Monday 23 June 2025 and be completed in approximately five weeks’ time, weather permitting.
Before Construction:
Please notify the council of any irrigation systems, pipes, or cables in the footpath area or verge that could be affected by the construction.
During Construction:
In constructing the new path there is a possibility that access may be temporarily affected. Appropriate notice and communication will be given for any disruptions.
Traffic control devices will be in place for the duration of the project to ensure public safety while the works are being undertaken. Property and pedestrian access will be maintained where possible.
Our contractor will use machinery to perform the works, which will result in some noise disturbances throughout the construction period. However, we have made every effort to schedule the works to minimize disturbances.
Post Construction:
City of Darwin requests that irrigation systems on the verge be tested for damage once the construction is completed. Repairs to damaged systems caused by the construction will be undertaken, subject to notification received within 30 days from the completion date of the works.
We thank you in advance for your patience and consideration.
