Intersection Upgrade - Dick Ward Drive and Fitzer Drive, Ludmilla
City of Darwin wishes to advise that we will be upgrading intersection of Dick Ward Drive and Fitzer Drive to address road safety concerns.
These works are funded by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, and City of Darwin is delivering the project. This project aims to improve road safety by targeting locations with a history of crashes and implementing design improvements to mitigate potential hazards.
The works will commence on Monday 11 May 2026 and are expected to be completed by end of June 2026, weather permitting.
The planned works include:
- Reconstructing the existing pedestrian refuge island.
- Separating left and right turn lanes approaching the junction from Fitzer Drive, which will involve constructing new road pavement.
- Building new traffic islands.
- Relocating a light pole to enhancing the right turn lane from Dick Ward Drive into Fitzer Drive.
These works are shown on map below.
