Malak Park Obstacle Course Playground - New Shade Structure

City of Darwin wishes to advise we will be installing new artificial shade structure over the Malak Park Obstacle Course in the Malak Greenbelt. This project aims to provide a cooler environment for children playing in the park. 

This playground is located at just behind the Malak Community Centre and next to Malak Primary School. The work is expected to commence on Monday 12 May 2025 and is expected to be completed by 13 June 2025, weather permitting. 

The playground will be closed for the public whilst works are completed. 

Traffic control devices will be in place for the duration of the project to ensure public safety while the works are being undertaken with minor impacts to parking and pedestrian walkways. Our contractor will be using machinery, which may result in some noise disturbances throughout the construction period. However, we have made every effort to schedule the works to minimize disturbances.
