Nightcliff Shopping Village Playground Shade Structure -
Completed December 2021

City of Darwin will be commencing works to install an artificial shade structure over the existing playground at Nightcliff Shopping Village.

The design of the shade structure is to provide a balance between artificial/natural shade providing the opportunity for future plantings while delivering immediate sun protection for the playground and market patrons.

The project is being delivered by City of Darwin, through local contractors.

Works are scheduled to commence Monday 22 November 2021 with shade sails scheduled for installation prior to the end of the year.

The playground and immediate area shall be closed to the public from Monday 29 November through to Friday 3 December 2021.

During construction the area shall have temporary construction fencing installed with traffic management arrangements in place as part of the tree stump removal.

Noise will be experienced as a result of construction activities.
