Changes to Library access and book drop

Construction of the new Civic Centre building will soon commence. The current Civic Centre carpark and nearby entrance will be closed from Monday 28 April and remain closed while works take place. The City Library will remain open and will be accessible from the Civic Centre Customer Services’ entry near Civic Park. 

Please note that the City Library returns chute will be temporarily unavailable. A new Book Drop will be installed at the Cavenagh St side of the Civic Centre soon. 

We kindly ask all customers to:

  • return items inside the Library during opening hours, or
  • use one of the 24/7 return chutes located at Casuarina, Nightcliff or Karama libraries.

Playground Upgrade - Easther Park, Coconut Grove - Completed October 2024

Easther Park Playground

As part of City of Darwin’s Play Space Strategy 2023 – 2030 the playground at Easther Park is being replaced.

City of Darwin is pleased to advise that works have commenced on the upgrade of Easther Crescent Park playground and are expected to be completed late September 2024.

The playground will be closed to the public whilst works are in progress.

The upgrade includes site preparation, removal of existing playground, installation of new shade and installation of new playground equipment and rubber softfall.

Traffic control will be used to safely bring machinery into the park. Please follow any traffic instructions where necessary.
