Playground Revitalisation – Fong Park Playground, Wanguri

City of Darwin wishes to advise that we will be installing new playground equipment, rubberised softfall and new shade in Fong Park Playground, Wanguri.

This work is a part of council’s playground revitalisation program aimed at making Darwin a vibrant and healthy community. The new playground will provide children with a safe space to engage in physical activity and encourage social interactions.

This playground is located at 6 Fong Street, Wanguri, 0820, NT. The works are scheduled to begin on Monday 16 February 2026 and are expected to be completed in two weeks’ time, weather permitting.

There will be temporary fencing in place around the playground for 12 weeks to allow the grass to establish.

The playground will be closed during the work.

Traffic control devices will be in place for the duration of the project to ensure public safety.

Machinery will be used during construction, which may result in some noise disturbances. However, we have made every effort to schedule the works in a way that minimises disruption.
