Smith and Searcy Street Intersection Upgrade - Completed May 2021
City of Darwin will be undertaking works at the intersection of Smith and Searcy Street, Darwin to improve the functionality of this important CBD road.
The works include:
- Installation of a pathway around the significant Banyan tree at the intersection of Smith Street and Searcy Street.
- Permanent change to traffic flow. The Smith Street end of Searcy Street will be one-way traffic, with no entry from Smith Street. Please see attached plan for further information.
Works are scheduled to commence Monday 19 April 2021 and are expected to take 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Council will ensure all care is taken to reduce any inconvenience however road closures will be in place along Searcy Street at times while work is occurring.
Council will be using machinery that may cause a noise disturbance for the duration of the works. Please follow any traffic instructions where necessary.
