Speed Limit Improvements - Lee Point Road
City of Darwin will soon implement changes to speed limits along Lee Point Road and install speed limit signages to improve safety, create consistency, and support safer travel for all road users.
Following a detailed review of current speeds, traffic behaviour, and existing signage, new speed limit signs will be installed to better reflect road conditions and enhance safety for drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and the surrounding community.
The following speed limit adjustments will be introduced at Lee Point Road:
- Between Jabiru Street and Daldawa Terrace, the speed limit will change to 60 km/h in both directions.
- South of Jabiru Street, the speed limit will remain 70 km/h.
- North of Daldawa Terrace, the speed limit will change to 70 km/h in both directions
The Installation of the new signage are scheduled to occur from week commencing Monday, 2 March 2026.
Please note minor disruptions may occur during installation.
Please refer to the map below, to see the layout of proposed modified speed limits.
