Storage Shed Construction - Nakara Oval 

City of Darwin is pleased to announce that we will be constructing a new storage shed adjacent to Nakara Oval. This project is part of council's Better Suburbs Program, which aims to support oval users and improve community infrastructure.  

The project will deliver two lockable bays for storing portable soccer goal posts and other equipment, along with solar lighting and internal dividers between the bays. The scope of work includes the construction of a concrete slab, installation of storage sheds, and solar lighting. The final design was completed in June 2025. 

The onsite works commenced in mid-June 2025 and are expected to be completed by the end of August 2025.

Traffic control devices will be in place for the duration of the project to ensure public safety, so please follow all traffic management instructions. There will be minor impacts on parking and pedestrian walkways adjacent to the work site.

There will be noise disturbances and dust throughout the construction period. However, City of Darwin has made every effort to minimise impacts.
