Intersections Upgrade - Trower Road,Casuarina
City of Darwin will soon be undertaking works at Trower Road’s intersections with Angelo Street and Henbury Avenue to address road safety concerns.
These works are being funded by the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, which is a funding initiative aimed at improving road safety by targeting locations with a history of crashes.
The works will consist of the construction of new concrete “seagull” traffic islands and the modification of existing median islands at both intersections, which will provide a physically protected storage area for right-turning vehicles from Angelo Street and Henbury Avenue onto Trower Road. An indented right-turn lane will also be constructed at the Trower Road and Angelo Street intersections to shelter right-turning vehicles from Trower Road onto Angelo Street. These works are shown on plans below for your information.
Works are expected to commence in June 2025 and are expected to be completed in eight weeks, weather permitting.
In order to implement the traffic management required to ensure the safety of all road users, some delays and inconvenience are expected in the area during construction. Please adhere to the traffic control measures that will be in place to assist with the safe delivery of these important road safety projects.
