City of Darwin proposes to permanently close the walkway known as Walkway 83, running between Vanderlin Drive and Amsterdam Circuit in Wagaman. We made this decision following requests from nearby residents who are interested in purchasing the land.
Walkway 83 background
The walkway has been closed for several years and will not reopen in the future. We have assessed the situation and determined that selling the walkway is the best course of action.
Sale to residents
If the Minister approves the sale, a portion of the walkway will be offered to the residents living next to it based on the current market value of the land.
Public input
According to the Local Government (General) Regulations 2021, residents have the right to object to the closure.
If you wish to voice your concerns, please send your written objection to the City of Darwin by 4:15 PM on Friday 22 November 2024.
