Public notice: road closures

Roads around the City of Darwin may be temporarily closed for major events or roadworks. This page is to inform the community of temporary road closures, providing information relevant to plan their commute or conduct business around the affected area/s.

City of Darwin make every effort during the permit process to minimise the impacts of road closures.

Please Note: Partial road closures and footpath closures may not be listed. If you have an enquiry, please contact the Events Coordinator on 0499 700 103.

Abala Road 19 April 2024 NRL Match, Paramatta Eels vs Dolphins Traffic controls will be in place to safely manage traffic and pedestrians increased by the sporting match 
Esplanade, Knuckey Street, Mitchell Street, Smith Street, Cavenagh Street, Bennett Street, Harry Chan Avenue, Austin Lane, West Lane, Shadforth Lane, Litchfield Street, Searcy Street 25 April 2024 ANZAC Day Dawn Service and Parade

Hard closures will be in place for the Dawn Service, with the exemption of authorised vehicles and local traffic under traffic control guidance between 4am and 7am.

Hard closures will be in place for the Parade, no exemptions between 7.30am and 11am.

Maria Liveris Drive Every Thursday and Sunday between 25 April 2024 and 31 October 2024 Mindil Beach Sunset Markets Hard closures will be in place with the exemption of authorised vehicles only, under traffic control guidance between 3pm and 11pm.
