Located within Bagot Park, Darwin's Cycling Velodrome is a community facility used for training and competitive cycling events, but can also be accessed by anyone in the community for personal use.  The Velodrome was upgraded in 2022, including:

•    Re-surface of the track with asphalt, maintaining the existing 330m track length and geometry, to improve safety and maintain community access to the facility
•    Installation of new barrier rail to improve rider safety
•    New improved LED lighting of the track surface
•    Refurbished spectator area, including compliant access

FACILITIES

  • Sport lighting - you must have a booking in place to access the lights
  • Carpark with accessible carparking
  • Amenities block - separate for male and female, with toilets and showers in both, baby change table in female section.  Open Friday 4-10pm: Sat and Sun 7am-10pm (a key can also be issued to users with a booking in place outside of these hours - booking process coming soon)

Usage

Cycling and Triathlon are the primary users of the Velodrome; however, other sporting bodies, community organisations and the general public can access the Velodrome outside of scheduled Cycling Club and Triathlon sessions, free of charge.

Velodrome Lighting

To access the Velodrome's sport lighting, you must have a booking in place (booking process coming soon).  There is lighting in the spectator area and carpark that operates automatically.
