City of Darwin has completed reconstruction works on the Aralia Street and Banksia Street roundabout ahead of schedule, with the intersection now fully reopened to traffic.
The project involved renewing the road pavement, roundabout and traffic islands to improve the condition of the intersection and extend the life of the asset.
Lord Mayor Peter Styles said the early completion was a positive outcome for the community and demonstrated City of Darwin's commitment to maintaining and improving local infrastructure.
"We are pleased to have completed these works ahead of schedule and reopened the intersection earlier than anticipated, minimising disruption for residents, businesses and road users.
"This project delivers a long-term improvement to the local road network and will help ensure the intersection continues to serve the community well into the future," he said.
The project forms part of City of Darwin's 2026/27 Road Reconstruction Program, which includes three major projects with a combined investment of $4.45 million.
City of Darwin thanks residents and road users for their patience and cooperation throughout the construction period.
