Softfall Installation - East Point Reserve Playground, East Point
Following the replacement of the softfall and shade structure over the Liberty Swing section of the East Point Reserve Playground, City of Darwin would like to advise that we will soon be installing rubberised softfall throughout the remainder of the playground, replacing the existing sand.
This work is a part of council’s playground revitalisation program aimed at making Darwin a vibrant and healthy community. The new softfall will improve children safety and encourage physical activities.
This playground is located near Lake Alexander, East Point. Please refer to the map below, indicating the work area.
The works are scheduled to commence on Monday 02 February 2026 and are expected to be completed in one weeks’ time, weather permitting.
The playground will be closed to the public while works are being carried out. However, the Liberty Swing section will remain open and accessible.
Traffic control devices will be in place for the duration of the project to ensure public safety.
Machinery will be used during construction, which may result in some noise disturbances. However, we have made every effort to schedule the works in a way that minimises disruption.
Thank you for your patience and consideration while we deliver this work for the community
