Northern Land Council 50 Year Anniversary Concert
State Square, Parliament House
Darwin NT 0800
Australia
Celebrate 50 years of the Northern Land Council with a free concert on 29 September 2023.
For a half a century the Northern Land Council has played a pivotal role in assisting Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands and seas.
This September marks 50 years since the inaugural meeting of the Northern Land Council’s first Full Council.
Join us at State Square, Parliament House Darwin on 29 September to commemorate this historic meeting.
We will celebrate the strong Aboriginal leaders, both past and present, who stepped forward to represent their communities and fight for their traditionally owned lands and seas.
This free, public event will be headlined by a performance from King Stingray, alongside Mumbali, Wildfire Manwurrk, Wairuk Band and The Mystics, as well as cultural performances and historic images highlighting 50 years of the NLC and the land rights movement in the Northern Territory.
Food trucks will be onsite during the evening.
Families welcome.
