Event Permits and Proposals

Darwin's vibrant events calendar brings our parks, streets and public spaces to life, creating opportunities for community connection, cultural celebration, recreation and economic activity. City of Darwin welcomes a diverse range of events across Council-managed venues, from community gatherings and sporting events to markets, festivals and major public activations.

If you're planning an event on Council-managed land, you may require an event permit. The type of permit, application requirements and any applicable fees and charges will depend on the size, location and complexity of your event.

This guide has been designed to help you understand the event permit process, choose the right application, prepare the required documentation and access useful resources before applying.

We encourage organisers to review the information throughout this guide, including venue information, permit requirements, supporting documentation and fees and charges, before submitting an application.
