Ward Hancock: Live on Fridays
Brown's Mart Courtyard
12 Smith St
Darwin City NT 0800
Australia
Live, local, original music to welcome your weekend!
Darwin-born Ward Hancock has returned to his hometown
after eight years of study in Melbourne and honing his
musical skills all over Australia, and in Jamaica.
Having played in every one of Australia’s states and
territories by age 23, Hancock’s career has been filled with
highlights, supporting the likes of Courtney Barnett, Josh
Pyke and Sir James Morrison; as well as working with in demand producers Jan Skubiszewski (John Butler, ILLY), Guus Hoevenaars (Courtney Barnett, Tones & I) and Flabba Holt (Roots Radics, Israel Vibration). Often compared to John Mayor, his stripped-back solo act moves effortlessly through genres like Reggae, Soul and Folk.
Embrace the perfect weather in the relaxing atmosphere of the Brown’s Mart Courtyard for 12 weeks of the best soloists and laid back duos in Darwin.
Friends and colleagues can grab a table for this iconic Friday afternoon ritual, where you can catch exciting up and coming talent as well as established names you know and love.
5-7PM, 12 April – 28 June 2024
