Around Town

Artist Ifa Shiddiq celebrates various local icons and living in the tropics in her new public artwork.

The irrigation tank at the Wulagi Greenbelt (off Thrush Court) now features Ifa Shiddiq’s Around Town.

Originally created for the Mindfulness Colouring Book project with LAUNCH Darwin, this artwork reflects the artist's deep affection for the city. The design features iconic local landmarks and a bicycle, capturing the laid-back, tropical lifestyle that defines life in Darwin. For long-time residents, it evokes a sense of comfort and nostalgia, while for newcomers, it offers a warm introduction to the city's beloved symbols and unique atmosphere.

Meet the Artist

lfa(Instagram: @eskrimko) is an emerging Indonesian-Australian illustrator with a distinct passion for character design and storytelling. Born and raised in Darwin, her work is heavily inspired by her own experiences and wishes to shine a positive light on the Territory by capturing the magic in the mundane.
