City of Darwin have recently completed the installation of new stormwater infrastructure in Weddell Park, Parap.

The replacement of the footpath is now to be completed however to achieve a safe passage into the park from Charlotte Street a small cluster of palm trees will be removed.

See picture of plan below indicating the small cluster of palm trees that will be removed.

The trees that are to be removed will be replaced with more suitable species for the area.

There will also be restrictions to the park entry from Charlotte Street. It is advised that this area of the park be avoided.

Council will be using machinery that may cause a noise disturbance for the duration of the works. Working hours are scheduled to occur between 7.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Works may also occur on the occasional Saturday from 7.00am to 4.30pm. This project is scheduled to be completed early June 2021.
