
City of Darwin has delivered a series of key resurfacing projects across the municipality, improving safety, accessibility, and road conditions for all users.
Delivered on time and to a high standard, the resurfacing works form part of City of Darwin’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient road network that meets the needs of Darwin City.
These projects reflect City of Darwin’s commitment to building a more connected and accessible community through strategic infrastructure improvements.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said the works are an example of effective planning and delivery, with residents already noticing the benefits.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said the completion of the resurfacing projects is a strong example of City of Darwin’s commitment to long-term asset management and quality infrastructure delivery.
“I’m pleased to announce the completion of resurfacing works at Chambers Crescent in Malak, Pickford Street and Freshwater Road in Jingili, the north-east section of Rapid Creek Road in Millner, and Gardens Road in The Gardens,” said Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis.
“These upgrades are not just about fixing roads – they’re about investing in the safety, efficiency and quality of our city’s transport network. Whether you’re commuting, cycling or just heading to the shops, you’ll notice the difference.”
City of Darwin manages more than 475 kilometres of roads and carries out resurfacing projects annually to maintain infrastructure and minimise future repair costs.
“Our crews and contractors have done an excellent job completing these works with minimal disruption,” the Lord Mayor said.
“I’d like to thank the community for their patience while we delivered these important upgrades.”
