Jingili Water Gardens New Footbridge
The Jingili Water Gardens Footbridge is no longer safe for public use and is closing 31 March 2025 following the expiry of its safety certification. The footbridge must be replaced to ensure continued access and public safety for our active community. Signage is in place to keep visitors informed about the closure and upcoming works.
A brand-new footbridge is on the way. Designed for durability, the footbridge will be built to withstand monsoonal rain and king tides. The upgraded footbridge will also be wider, providing a shared access path and gentle slope to enhance accessibility for all users. Construction is expected to begin soon, with works to be completed later in the dry season (weather permitting).
We understand that the footbridge is an important part of connectivity and recreation in Jingili Water Gardens. City of Darwin is committed to keeping the community informed as this important upgrade progresses.
Thank you for your patience as we work to deliver a safer, more accessible footbridge.
