Upon becoming aware of an untidy allotment Council rangers will inspect the property and the owner/occupier may be served with a notice for the property.
The allotment will need to be tidied by undertaking some or all of the following within a specified time frame:
- Remove overgrown vegetation
- Remove vegetation encroaching onto public land or footpath
- Remove litter.
If the property is deemed to be satisfactory no further action will be taken.
If the work has not been carried out, Council will arrange for the work to be completed and the costs will be passed on to the property owner.
You can report an untidy allotment by emailing darwin@darwin.nt.gov.au
