Author talk: A Little Bit of Justice, Don Christophersen
A Little Bit of Justice tells the story of Charlie Flannigan, a young stockman and well-known jockey, who would also be remembered infamously as being the first man to be executed in the Northern Territory of South Australia.
With a passion for researching and telling of the history of the Northern Territory, Don Christophersen’s book brings together historical court documents, newspaper articles, and importantly Flannigan’s own illustrations drawn while in gaol to share this 130-year-old story.
Join Don Christophersen at Casuarina Library for an author talk and book signing on the 130th anniversary of Charlie Flannigan’s execution (9:00am Saturday 15th July 1893).
About the author: Don Christophersen was born and has lived his entire life in the Northern Territory. Don is a descendant of the First Nation’s language groups of the Cobourg Peninsula and Kakadu National Park and has been employed with the Library and Archives NT for the last 4 years.
