Our wonderful world is changing faster than ever. The St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School performance Firefly Effect explores ‘change’ through drama and dance.

Firefly Effect follows two young friends, Avi and Sita and highlights changes that are happening around them. Including advances in A.I and technology, relationships with family and friends, changes in nature and within themselves. These examples of change are brought to life through 12 dances. Each magnificent class contributes with simple to complex movement, unique costumes and individual student energy and style.

Audiences will be taken on a journey to reflect and reveal how and where we can see change, big and small. Change can be unexpected, scary, exciting, bizarre, wonderful and constant. The characters draw on the idea of the lights of fireflies, as symbols of hope when faced with change. Avi and Sita become inspired by the strange and sudden appearance of the fireflies and are motivated by Avi’s grandparents that by changing their actions, big or small, they can make a bigger, brighter world for all.
