3D Printer

3D printing services are available to the public at Casuarina, Nightcliff, and Darwin City Libraries.

3D printing is a way of creating three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. This is done by printing layer on layer of plastic, building up a shape that can be very detailed.

How can I print something?

To print in 3D, you first need a digital 3D model. There are numerous 3D print files available online that you can use for free. Visit Thingyverse and explore the wide range of 3D printable things.

If you want to learn how to create your own models, TinkerCAD is a free web-based modelling program with simple tutorials to get you started. Find out more about using TinkerCAD.

To start printing your object, email your design to steam@darwin.nt.gov.au
